- Murat Erkan

Murat Erkan has joined the Turkcell family in June 2008 as the Tellcom General Manager, started his carrier in Toshiba. He continued his career as the first “System Engineer” of Turkey at Cisco Turkey. He has worked on the pioneer projects of Turkey’s leading finance, telecommunication companies, holdings and public corporations such as Turkcell. Erkan carried on his carrier as Business Unit Management at Aneltech on solutions related to Telecommunication, Mobile, ICT, defense industry and industrial products sectors as from 2006, before his appointment at Tellcom. Erkan, managed the merge of Tellcom and Superonline in 2009 and graduated from Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering of Yıldız Technical University in 1992. He is working as Turkcell Superonline’s General Manager since 2008.

Aaron Deacon has been at the center of Kansas City's response to the Google Fiber project. As an advisor to the Mayors' Bi-State Innovations Team he helped write Playing to Win in America’s Digital Crossroads, the cities' "playbook" covering education, health care, entrepreneurship and innovation, arts and culture and city life and governance. He organized Building the Gigabit City, a community-wide brainstorming event that kicked off the local conversation about the potential advantages of a FTTH network. He has led several community engagement initiatives to help citizens understand the importance of next generation connectivity, working closely alongside Google up to and through the preregistration process. And he is a founder of the Gigabit City Summit, which helps to share learning from across the world about the best practices in establishing smart, connected communities on top of FTTH networks.

Claudius Boller is responsible for digital business and business development at Universal Music MENA since 2 years. He conducted Universal Music’s strategy for MENA and brought the local Dubai operation and business to life. He concluded several digital content licensing agreements and established brand partnerships with global and local brands.

Before joining Universal Music Claudius Boller was Vice President Business Development at Arvato in Dubai and Hamburg for 4 years. Arvato is a subsidiary of Bertelsmann. He was responsible for digital content solutions for mobile operators, technical service providers, media companies and brands.

In both positions Claudius Boller has developed customized services for his clients in more than 35 countries. He also developed the relevant marketing and implementation plans for the services to be successful.

- Gregor Smolej

Mr. Gregor Smolej, joined Iskratel as a member of DSLAM development team, later he joined Product Management of the Iskratel's most strategic product family – the Multi-Service Access Node - SI3000 MSAN, where he become product manager for Broadband Access solutions (DSL, FTTH and Ethernet networking). Presently, he leads the development team as Product Innovation Manager within Innbox Business Unit to promote a new product line of broadband Home Gateways, specially suited for the FTTH projects, bringing added value and levered quality of experience to service providers and end users.



- Hassan Claussen

Hassan M. Claussen has been working in the Telecoms and IT market for over 20 years. In the early 90’s, Hassan was heading sales & marketing operations in Hamburg (Germany) for one of the largest IT Consultants, Telemation (acquired in 2000 by Dimension Data).
In Portugal since 1996, Hassan started a new career in business development, training and consulting with international training experts, ComGlobal. During this time he provided valuable services to many individuals and enterprises in the area of IT and Telecommunications. The business he worked with was recognized for many years as a leading IT Consultant.
After 17 years experience in the Telecoms and IT markets, Hassan M. Claussen founded HanseCom Media & Communication in November 2004.
With HanseCom he is now working in the event management and organization industry specializing in the telecommunications and IT industry. Together with his team, Hassan focuses his expertise in developing profitable events, handling projects from design and research, to marketing and sales, through to speaker acquisitions and management running up to and on the day of an event.



- Mevlut Uysal

Mevlut Uysal born in 1966 completed his higher education from Law Faculty of Istanbul University in 1988.
Since university years Mevlut Uysal was closely interested in society and country matters and actively participated in political and social works. After completing university he commenced his career as a Legal Practitionar while also being engaged in active politics. During this period he moved up from District Representative to County/City Commissioner of AK Party (The Justice and Development Party) and gained significant political experience. He has been involved in forming and being part of managing a number of NGO’s related to his profession as well as related to other Social topics.
Mevlut Uysal was elected Mayor to Basaksehir Municipality in the Municipality Elections held in 2009. Since being in office he has initiated and completed a significant number of public projects for its citizens.

- Muneer Zuhdi

Dr. Muneer Zuhdi has been with Etisalat since December 2008. In his current role, as Senior Director of Technology Strategy, he is in charge of the technology strategy for both Fixed and Mobile Networks in the United Arab Emirates. 

Prior to joining Etisalat, Dr. Zuhdi held variety of engineering and management positions in the United States of America at Tellabs, AFC, Marconi, and Reltec. He has more than 16 years of telecommunications industry experience managing global R&D Projects that ranged from researching next generation networks to developing cost-effective systems and solutions which was deployed in millions of lines mostly by tier-1 operators, such as Verizon and AT&T, in the United States of America.

Dr. Zuhdi has more than 15 American and International patents, many publications and invited presentations, and has served on the Industry Advisory Board at the University of Texas at Dallas.

Dr. Zuhdi has a Ph.D. from the University of Aveiro, Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Texas, and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering degree also from the University of Texas.



- Önder ŞENOL

Mr. Önder ŞENOL completed his bachelor’s degree in the division of Management Engineering at Istanbul Technical University and his master’s degree in Business Administration at Istanbul Technical University. Hes started his career life at Karon&ICE Securities A.Ş. in the position of Research Analyst in 1996. Mr. Önder ŞENOL has been working for Turkcell Group over 13 years; in Planning and Reporting,  Strategy & Business Development, Investor Relations, Investment&Subsidiaries and Irancell Project as managerial positions. He has been working  as a CFO of Superonline since 2006.



- Oytun Altasli

After getting a BA degree in Bogazici University in Istanbul, Oytun Altasli completed her MBA degree at New York University Stern Business School. She worked as a TMT investment banker and Turkey coverage research analyst at Merrill Lynch before joining Standard Unlu. In addition to telecommunications, her current coverage includes utilities, infrastructure, construction, cement and holding companies.

- Richard Jones

Richard Jones co-founded Ventura Team as a different kind of consultancy - employing only senior professionals (the average age is 45) with exceptional hands-on skills.

Richard's pragmatic approach to developing and then implementing strategies and operations with his colleagues has earned a strong reputation with operators facing tough challenges in the region and also with industry bodies such as the Fibre to the Home Council and GSM-A.

Richard recently completed his second NGA startup and rollout in the Gulf. He has previously been seconded in as Chief Commercial Officer from startup to the launch phases of a Gulf startup operator - covering all aspects of business and financial planning, commercial deployment and implementation. During this work he was closely involved in the evaluation process and eventual selection of the largest WiMAX deployment in EMEA.

Richard supports strategic decision making through generic and tailored events and workshops, as well as holding training across a number of topics including project and programme management and leadership.

He has also designed and led major change programmes for multinational companies - directing and training internal facilitation teams to identify and implement changes in projects of up to two years duration and covering all aspects of multi-country operations. He is currently engaged in a project of this type for the UN - working to help the regulator in Iraq.

His work in turning around the toughest projects and programmes led to his writing Project Management Survival - published by Kogan Page in English and available in other languages including Chinese.Richard has a degree in Electronics (UK/France), a masters equivalent in engineering and an MBA with distinction.



- Roland Montagne

Roland Montagne joined IDATE in 1998 and he is now Director Telecoms Business Unit. In his position he is responsible of IDATE Consulting and Research activities covering Telecoms markets.
Roland is also Head of Broadband / FTTx Practice at IDATE. Mr Montagne played a leading role in previous IDATE International studies. He has carried out several studies dealing with European Broadband roll out and he is in charge actually of an annual Survey on Broadband Access for the DGInfSo. Since 2004, Roland Montagne is leading FTTx works at IDATE and is also the project leader, twice a year, for the FTTH Council Europe European FTTH projects panorama (10th edition in 2012). He also achieved a major study for the French Government on scenarios for deploying Very High Broadband networks in France (cost model and Government options). Roland Montagne also carried out several strategic analyses focused on US and Asian developing FTTH markets. He has been recently involved on FTTH cost model analysis for the United Kingdom as well as best practice study looking at fibre indoor deployments as well as ducts sharing. Recently, He was also leading a study on the potential of NGPON technologies as well as maturity of active wholesale for developing FTTH markets. In 2012 Roland is conducting FTTH projects Panorama for Latin America FTTH Chapter (8 countries covered), FTTH Council APAC (14 countries studied/3rd edition) and is leading an annual worldwide FTTx watch service proposed by IDATE and covering more than 60 countries (5th edition).

Roland is a regular speaker in key events related to FTTH topics at an international level (FTTH Councils Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East, Latin America and US, FTTH Forum, Broadband World Forum, IIR, Informa & IQPC events, ETNO, CITI and IDATE Digiworld Summit).

Roland Montagne is a Telecommunications Engineer (ENST Paris, 1994) and received a Master on Electronics (University Paris 6, 1994). He also worked for AT&T Bell laboratories (USA) as Engineer on DWDM Optical Networks and ATM technologies. He started his carrier in the France Telecom R&D labs working on optical communications.



- Stefan Stanislawski

Over almost 20 years helping Boards, senior managers and regulators to make critical decisions in both fixed and mobile telecoms, his work has encompassed all aspects of telecommunications strategy, business development and litigation as well as participating in some $100 billion worth of telecom financings or acquisitions.

Stefan has worked on projects to create the world's fastest FTTH operator as well as planning of a 20,000 cabinet rollout.  He is known for his integrity and clarity of thinking on the most complex problems and topics.

Stefan was the third person to join Analysys and played a major role in its growth from start-up into a globally respected advisory firm. In particular Stefan developed the finance practice that within 5 years of launch had achieved market leadership in due diligence and other transaction support to major West European telecom financings based on its reputation for quality, insight and absolute integrity.

Since co-founding Ventura Team, Stefan has been instrumental in developing major projects across business modelling, due diligence and license bid support.

Widely known across the industry, Stefan is regularly asked to speak at conferences and provides his trademark honest, intelligent and clear opinions on the issues at the heart of the industry.



- Wolf-Dietrich Grussmann
Head of Unit Regulatory Coordination and Business
European Commissions Communications Networks, Content and Technology Directorate-General

Mr Grussmann is Head of Unit "Regulatory Coordination and Business" within the European Commission's Communications Networks, Content and Technology Directorate-General. This unit is in charge with developing policy and legislation with a particular focus on issues related to access and authorisation of e-communications networks and services, notably interoperability, interconnection, civil works, independence of regulators and new measures to strengthen the single market. The unit is also in charge of monitoring the implementation of the regulatory framework for electronic communications in 14 Member States and coordinates the infringement proceedings for the Directorate-General. Previously, Mr Grussmann was Head of Unit "Implementation of Regulatory Framework (II)" within the European Commission's Information Society and Media Directorate-General.

From 1992 to 1993 Mr Grussmann worked in the Legal Service of the Austrian Federal Chancellery, and dealt with the implementation of the Agreement on the European Economic Area and the preparation of the EU accession. He was Vice-president of the Federal Procurement Control Commission in Vienna from 1994 to 1998.

Wolf-Dietrich Grussmann is graduated in law and was assistant professor at the University of Salzburg from 1992 to 2000.



- Yunus Celebiler

Yunus Celebiler is responsible for growing TurkNet’s fiber infrastructure since 2008.  TurkNet’s infrastructure investments include international fiber optic interconnections, metro area fiber networks in several Turkish cities, the highest number of Unbundled Local Loops of any Turkish operator, and an expanding FTTH network. Prior to TurkNet, Yunus worked in Silicon Valley, Boston, and London, helping grow several startup companies through to strategic acquisitions. Yunus holds a BS from Stanford University and an MBA from INSEAD.
